“A house is much more than a mere shelter, it should lift us emotionally and spiritually.”
Hillview – Kitchen – Laundry
Nicky was recommended to me by a friend after I found myself pretty overwhelmed when it came to designing the kitchen for our first new build. Nicky quickly reassured me she would be able to help and that she did! She listened to what we wanted out of a kitchen for our family and gave us numerous ideas and suggestions which was fantastic. Nicky was very approachable and patient with the many changes we made along with way. We have moved into our new home and love the kitchen, laundry and bathroom vanity she designed for us.

Tai Tapu – Kitchen – Bathroom
Our clients asked us to come up with a plan that opened the kitchen up to the adjacent living room and dining space and to remodel the 1970’s bathroom into a more practical space for a family home.
We removed the internal wall separating the living room from the kitchen and placed an L shaped kitchen with an island in the original kitchens location. I think the transformation speaks for itself!
We chose Melteca™ Warm White for the cabinets and the timber accent is Bestwood Southern Oak. The benchtops are white Laminate.
Levi Road – Kitchen – Bathroom – Colour
This home was built as an investment property. The target market was “Young Family”.
With this in mind the client needed to create “wow factor” to set it apart from other homes for sale in the area without over capitalising.
The kitchen was very much a part of the larger living area and had sliding door access to the central, Atrium-style deck. To make the most of the space (and the view) we placed the large single sink under the kitchen window rather than on the island. This left us with a large, uncluttered island that family and friends could easily congregate around. Mid-range Ariston appliances were used and a walk-in pantry was disguised behind a painted cavity slider.
We opted for Low Pressure Laminate (LPL) cabinets and panels in Melteca® Bliss Cinder and upgraded the drawer hardware to “soft-close”. The benchtop was made from 20m Caesarstone® in Organic White.
Bathroom & ensuite…
Clever product choices made the bathrooms in this home a highlight. A simple yet stylish colour palette give the rooms a natural almost earthy look without compromising the fresh clean feel.
A Waterware Bath and Michel César Vanities were used here.
Holiday Drive – Kitchen – Colour
The clients built this house as an investment and needed it to stand out from the crowd but with a modest budget.
The kitchen space was relatively compact so the inclusion of the walk-in pantry was a must.
Bench-space was also very important here. The use of white, timber and steel blue complimented the space and gave the kitchen a contemporary feel and a real point of difference.
Munt Residence – Kitchen – Bathrooms
Kate and Evan have a young family and wanted spaces that not only look good for years to come but function well with their busy lifestyle.
Kate, being a cake baking genius, needed work surfaces that were good to work on and easy to clean, a large walk-in pantry and a special “Cakery” for her growing business.
“Nicky was a pleasure to work with while we were building our first new home, she understood our concept right from the start and helped us achieve exactly what we wanted for two Kitchens and the Pantry. Nicky then helped us with laundry, bathroom and wardrobes and we now have a fantastic new home which we love” Kate and Evan Munt.
Lookaway Lane – Kitchen – Colour
This re-build gave our clients an opportunity to have their new home built to suit their lifestyle and the needs of their family for years to come.
The brief was to create a kitchen that was attractive and made the most of the wonderful views. It also needed to be ergonomic and a pleasant space for the two occupants to use on a daily basis yet spacious and practical for when the house is full of family and friends which if often is.
A clutter-free island that would serve as the “hub” for social gatherings and family meals was essential to the overall success of this kitchen and the inclusion of the semi walk-in pantry to house the smaller appliances was the ideal solution for the available space.
The cabinets are made in Dezignatek Satin White with extrusion style handles. The benchtops are Caesarstone Alpine Mist.
“Nicky, thanks so much for guiding us through the design and build of our new kitchen. We are thrilled with the result and very much enjoyed working with you. Your extensive practical experience, high quality advice, design flair, efficiency and energy are most appreciated by us. You would definitely be our first choice for any future projects.”

Westminster Street – Kitchen – Colour
Stylish. Sustainable. Energy-efficient. Environmentally-friendly. Values these clients are deeply passionate about. This kitchen was a true collaboration between myself, the owners (Eco Built Homes) and the joiner charged with bringing this creation to life.
Cabinet fronts are made with plywood which was stained to match the colour of the exterior cladding with routed handles. The benchtop is made with Paperock – a non-porous sustainable product made from recycled material.
